For this recipe, we turned to Martha, who knows a thing or two about cookies. All you need is a cast iron pan and a few pantry ingredients... ice cream optional.
Ingredients
  • 6 tablespoons butter, room temperature
  • ⅓ cup packed dark brown sugar
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips [note: I used more, approximately 1½ cups]
  • vanilla ice cream (optional)
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, combine butter and both sugars with a wooden spoon.
  3. Stir in egg and vanilla.
  4. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Stir in chips.
  6. Transfer to a 10-inch cast iron skillet and smooth the top.
  7. Bake until cookie is golden brown and just set in the middle, about 18 to 20 minutes.
  8. Let cool 5 minutes.
  9. Cut into wedges to serve - hah, who are we kidding? Put some ice cream on top and grab a fork!
  10. Have a safe and happy Halloween!
