For this recipe, we turned to Martha, who knows a thing or two about cookies. All you need is a cast iron pan and a few pantry ingredients... ice cream optional.
Ingredients
6 tablespoons butter, room temperature
⅓ cup packed dark brown sugar
½ cup sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips [note: I used more, approximately 1½ cups]
vanilla ice cream (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
In a large bowl, combine butter and both sugars with a wooden spoon.
Stir in egg and vanilla.
Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt.
Stir in chips.
Transfer to a 10-inch cast iron skillet and smooth the top.
Bake until cookie is golden brown and just set in the middle, about 18 to 20 minutes.
Let cool 5 minutes.
Cut into wedges to serve - hah, who are we kidding? Put some ice cream on top and grab a fork!
Have a safe and happy Halloween!
